The Thiensville-Mequon Small Animal Clinic team of skilled veterinarians welcomes you to our practice. Proudly serving the Thiensville and Mequon areas. At Thiensville-Mequon Small Animal Clinic, it is our daily privilege to provide quality vet care to your cherished pet, with compassion and competence. We hope to ensure a positive impact on our patients, pet owners and the local community.

Dr. John H. Carlson

Dr. John H. Carlson, D.V.M., was a partner/owner at Thiensville-Mequon Small Animal Clinic. Dr. Carlson’s interests include internal medicine and general soft tissue surgery of dogs and cats. He is a 1973 graduate of the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Carlson and his wife Suzanne have 3 adult children and 4 lovely grandchildren to enjoy and spoil. In his free time he enjoys boating and salmon fishing on Lake Michigan and the companionship of his Brittany, Ben, and his cat, Slinky.

Dr. James Boynar

Dr. Boynar was born and raised in rural northeast Ohio. He pursued a career in Human Physiology at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine. Later, he changed career paths and graduated in the second class at the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine. He enjoys all aspects of small animal medicine, including soft tissue surgery, and "pocket pet" medicine. He was also a partner/owner at Thiensville-Mequon Small Animal Clinic. Dr. Boynar and his wife have raised three children. He enjoys outdoor sports, especially fly fishing. He has had many pets over the years and currently owns a great spaniel named Doc.

Dr. Jennifer Mitchell

Dr. Jenni Mitchell is a 2000 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She practiced in Wausau for her first two years out of veterinary school, then relocated to the north Milwaukee area to join Thiensville-Mequon Small Animal Clinic in 2002. Her areas of special interest are soft tissue surgery, dentistry, and feline medicine. Dr. Mitchell is married and has two sons, one cat, and a fish. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family and organizing for her trivia team which participates in the world’s largest trivia contest each spring in Stevens Point, WI.

Dr. Christine Stencel

Dr. Stencel was born and raised in the Milwaukee area. She is a 2005 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine. She returned to the Milwaukee area following veterinary school, and has been with the Thiensville-Mequon Small Animal Clinic since then. Dr. Stencel enjoys internal medicine and sees canine, feline, and occasional small mammal patients. She and her husband have one cat, two guinea pigs, and one dog. In her free time she likes to travel, camp, hike, garden, and read science fiction.

Dr. Megan Brody

Dr. Megan Brody was born and raised in Southeastern Wisconsin. She graduated from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in 2010. She enjoys general practice but is especially interested in surgery. In her free time she enjoys spending time with family and friends. She also participates and competes in various sports including running, triathlons, cross country skiing, and kickboxing. Dr. Brody also enjoys outdoor activities such as fishing, hiking, and camping.

Dr. Molly Isaacson

Dr. Isaacson grew up in west-central Wisconsin. She graduated from Auburn University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 2010 and completed a small animal internship at Central Texas Veterinary Specialty Hospital in Austin, TX in 2011. Her areas of interest include neurology, internal medicine and soft tissue surgery. Dr. Isaacson enjoys being outdoors and is active in both snow sports and water sports. She has three dogs—two English bulldogs and one Labrador retriever.
